I Made it the Finals!

I am super excited to have made it to the final round for the SCS CAS fall design team. The theme for the last round is couples. This Amuse image came to my mind right away! I just think it is too cute! I stamped the image, colored it with copic markers, and then used Verve's set Sweet on You and stamped around the image. Next, I used SU's wide oval punch to punch out the focal image. The scallop border it is actually stamped in chocolate ink, it is not cut out of a piece of cardstock! It is also part of Verve's set Sweet on You. I popped up the focal image and added a heart gem to the top of the kissing couple. The patterned paper is by Bo Bunny and I used SU's scallop border punch to make the edge decorative. Lastly, for the sentiment (by Hampton Arts) I stamped it on a strip of white paper and folded it to make a banner. I used a small square punch to complete the triangle edges of the banner and popped it up in the center to add some dimension. Wish me luck, we will find out on Thursday who will be a part of the fall design team!

It's All About the Bag

For round 2 of the SCS CAS design team challenge the theme was patterned paper and an optional theme of fashion back to school. It was always so fun picking out a new school bag for the year, so I thought this tote would be a fun image for this challenge. I colored the tote with copic markers, and stamped the circle border from Endless Creations in Lime Pastel around the focal image. Then I embossed a scalloped circle around it all using nestabilities. Next, I stamped my sentiment from Hero Arts in the corner using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Then, I added my patterned paper that I edged using SU's border punch, and added three lime green gems to the black grograin ribbon. To complete this card I adhered the card front to Gina K. pure luxury black onyx cardstock.

Apple of my Eye

Summer sure flew by! August is here, and it is Back to School time....and time for a new Clean and Simple design team over at SCS. I thought I'd give it another chance. I made it to the semi-finals with this card. The theme was Teacher's Pet and you also needed to use a paper punch. I chose to use a corner rounder punch. Being a teacher myself I happened to have some fun apple, teacher stuff for this card. The embossing folder is by Quickutz, the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, the apple stamps are a $ acrylic stamp set I had bought at JoAnn's, and all of the paper is pure luxury cardstock from Gina K. designs.

Now I need to go and make a CAS card using designer paper for the next challenge....

Stamp TV Kleenex Box

My mother in law saw my box that I had made using the tutorial on Stamp TV, and she thought she would like to have one. Her birthday is next week so I made this for her.

For the focal image I used the drop shadow technique using a stamp from the Spring Mix Stamp TV kit. I also colored the white stitching of the ribbon with a copic marker to match the patterned paper.

This is such a sturdy box when completed, with all of the extra cardstock layers.

Feel Better Soon

I was cruising through some of my favorite blogs today and saw Nichole Heady's card. She applied white ink with a cotton swab to an image on kraft cardstock and then stamped over the white, how clever! Then I was thinking about this image from the Spring Mix Set from Gina K, and the light bulb turned on! I thought the image was cute all by itself, but then I thought some simple embossing with my score buddy and some ribbon would make it look just a little bit more special. What a quick, fun card!

Stamp TV Christmas Challenge

I'm glad that Stamp TV is having these Christmas Challenges, it is getting me thinking about Christmas cards! Maybe I will get them finished early this year! This weeks challenge was to use a die cut or a punch. I love die cuts, so I had to use one! The snowflake that keeps this joy fold card closed is the die cut I chose. It is a Sizzix emboss and cut out die cut. I also tried out Gina's window technique that she shared on Stamp TV using the stamp set Blessed is the Season.

I tried the capture the glitz and glimmer here, I used my Sakura glitter pen to add some sparkles for the snow. But it was hard to get that on my picture.

And here is the inside. I stamped my image off once before stamping it on the inside so you can see the sentiment that I stamped in brown. You can see it better in real life, my pictures aren't the best today! I also added another snowflake on the inside, just because I love the snowflake! My papers are from Basic Grey's 6x6 Waissil Paper Pad.
