Happy Anniversary!

Supplies: Stamps: Whipper Snapper  Paper: GKD heavy base white  Ink: cherry cobbler  Accessories: Spellbinders heart die cut, ribbon

Congrats to the featured stamper on SCS, One4Joy.  What a fun gallery!  I chose this card to CASE.  I kept my card white, changed the orientation of the heart, and used a die cut for the heart.  I think this heart is so pretty, and wanted it to be the highlight of this card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Halloween!

Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Paper cut black, orange from Hobby Lobby, Neenah white  Accessories: Martha Stewart spider web punch, Sizzix scallop rectangle frame, googlie eyes
With this fall weather here, it is time for me to start thinking about getting my Halloween cards done.  I cased this card for the featured stamper challenge on Splitcoast Stampers.  I kept the card pretty close to the original, because I really liked it!  I made some subtle changes; the orientation, different spider stamp that included a sentiment, added an orange glitter scallop frame, and I added googlie eyes to my spider.  I thought it would have been fun to use purple glitter paper, but I didn't have any.  I might have to sneak away to Joann to get some and make another!  :)  Thanks for looking!

Apples to Apples

Supplies: Stamps: Lockhart  Paper: Gina K Heavy Base Weight  Ink: Memento tuxedo black    Accessories: corner rounder, copic markers, score buddy, gingham ribbon

I made this card for two challenges.  The first is the CASology cue card: Apples, and the second is CASual Fridays theme: Back to School.  When I was looking through my images I came across this stamp, I thought it definitely fit the apple cue card, and a great image for a back to school notecard for a teacher.  I colored my image and kept the details clean and simple.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello!  My niece celebrated her birthday this week, and we are going to her party tomorrow.  She LOVES horses, so when I found this stamp at a rummage sale I couldn't pass it up!  I colored the boots with copics, added gems to the center of the flowers, and attached the lasso I made out of twine.  Thanks for stopping by!

I Know School is Just Beginning but...

Supplies: Stamps: Stampendous: Changito Monkey Lawn Fawn: Happy Summer and A Little Birdie Told Me  Paper: Gina K white  Ink: Memento tuxedo black, SU riding hood red  Accessories: Stampin Up ribbon, copic markers, A Little Birdie Told Me die cuts, dimensionals, corner rounder

I know school is just beginning but the teacher in me is already counting down to summer!  Ha!  I made this card for the CASology cue word: book.  I am not a reader, I try, but my eyes just get heavier and heavier as I read.  Which turns into nap time for me!  So I thought this Changito monkey image would be great for this challenge.  Maybe I could read through osmosis like Changito! :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Sending Smiles!

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: white and gumball green  Accessories: My Favorite Things banner die cut, twine, copic markers, glossy accents, clear beads

Hello!  I'm back with another challenge card.  This is for CASual Fridays challenge to use the colors; orange, aqua, and green.  I thought of this fish bowl image right away.  I just love it, it is cute and fun to color!  I jazzed it up a bit by adding some glossy accents over the fish bowl to make it shiny like glass, and then added some clear beads for the "rocks" at the bottom of the fish bowl.  You can see the shine and beads in the close up picture.

CAS Bulletin Board

Supplies: Stamps: Stampendous  Paper: white cardstock and cork paper  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: red copic markers, light blue Sharpie pen, glossy accents, dimensionals

This week the cue word is Paper for the CASology challenge.  I have to admit when I saw the cue word, I was like oh man!  I went to my handy dandy catalog of all of my stuff, and I stumbled upon the Stampendous Changito monkey teacher set.  In it, it had this cute paper memo image, and the light bulb in my head started to flicker! :)  I originally stamped it as it was, it had the word memo on the original image.  Then I thought I could personalize it and write my own little memos.  So I stamped the papers again leaving the center blank, I wrote my messages, colored the push pins, and added glossy accents to the push pins to make them shiny like plastic.  When I adhered the memos to the cork paper I added score tape to the top and then a little dimensional at the bottom.  I did this to make it look like the memos were actually pinned to the bulletin board, and add some dimension.

Halloween Happiness

Supplies: Stamps: Halloween Happiness  Ink: Memento tangelo, early espresso, and Memento bamboo leaves  Paper: white and black cardstock  Accessories: SU large doily die, peach parfait ribbon, ribbon slide, chevron embossing folder

I love this new stamp from the Holiday Mini, the pumpkins are just too cute.  As cute as it is I was having a hard time finding just the right layout for this image.  I was looking through my supplies, and thought the large doily in black would be fun, and then things started falling into place.  I found some ribbon to break up the white space, and partially embossed the card base with a chevron pattern to coordinate with one of the pumpkins.  I am going to try another with this image, we'll see what I come up with next!

Snowy Button Wishes

Supplies: Paper: crumb cake and cherry cobbler cardstock  Ink: craft white Accessories: Sizzix embossing folder, Stampin Up oval embossing folder, buttons, cherry cobbler twine, gems, sponge, black copic marker

The challenge on CAS-ual Fridays is to use buttons.  My Mom saw this pin on Pinterest and shared it with me.  That is where I got inspiration for this card.  For the embossing I created a cardboard shim with a large oval cut out in the middle.  This allowed me to emboss both with both folders successfully.  I sponged white ink on the snowflakes and added a gem to the center of them.  I colored behind my buttons with a black marker to make them look like the coal buttons and eyes of the snowman.

Back to School

Supplies: Cardstock: yellow, cream, pink, black, metallic silver  Accessories: Silhouette cut file  Card Details Here

August is here...back to school time is upon us.  My niece and nephew started school this week, and my other niece starts in a couple of weeks.  I thought I would make them a little treat box to help them start out their school year.  I measured the size of a Hershey nugget and scaled the pencil box file down to fit the candies.  I also created and cut out their name labels on the Silhouette.  I tried a new to me spray adhesive, it was Aleene's Tacky Adhesive Spray.  It was super sticky!  I didn't have to apply a lot and it had a great bond, perfect for those very detailed die cuts.

That's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by!

Day 4 Dare to Get Dirty

Supplies: Paper: black, white, and red glitter cardstock  Accessories: Silhouette cut file, American Crafts ribbon, glitter brad, dimensionals

This was a fun card to make.  I made a print and cut file on the Silhouette.  I cut the heart and printed the U.  I found some cute ribbon, and wanted a glitter brad.  I only had pastel colors so I used a black copic marker and colored it!

Supplies: Stamps: Snow Much Fun  Paper: GKD white heavy cardstock  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: SU ribbon, snowflake brad, copic markers, liquid applique

I love Gina K's heavy base weight cardstock for one layer cards.  It really stands up to it all;  copic coloring, the heat needed for the liquid applique, etc.   I went a little crazy with the liquid applique on this one!  I love that stuff!
Supplies: Stamps: Stampendous, SU school lines Paper: kraft, white, and red  Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Versamark  Accessories: Papertrey die, copic markers, Zing red embossing powder

What is it about the imfamous Changito monkey?!  He is so gosh darn cute.  He is a fun image to color as well.  I decided to heat emboss my sentiment to make sure it would stand out against the kraft paper.

Supplies:  Stamps: Gina K  Paper: Gina K white  Ink: Memento tuxedo black and soft suede  Accessories: copic markers, Spellbinders, Papertrey die

I had my focal image layed out on my card base and thought it needed a little something something.  So I embossed a rectangle frame using my Spellbinders, popped up my focal image, and thought it added more dimension to the card.

Day 3 Dare to Get Dirty

Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts  Ink: white craft  Paper: black and white cardstock  Accessories: Spellbinders, sponge, twine

This is my first attempt at the chalkboard technique.  I had a hard time wanting to make a dusty chalkboard, so mine is pretty clean! :)

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: 6x6 paper pad, Sizzix die cut, Tim Holtz tinsel twine, red gem

I think these trees are so cute, had to make one.  I trimmed the bottom so it was more even of a circle at the bottom.
Supplies: Stamps: Gina K, Autumn Leaves  Ink: VersaMark, Memento tuxedo black  Paper: black cardstock, glossy cardstock, white cardstock  Accessories: black fine detail embossing powder, scallop oval punch, oval punch, Tim Holtz alcohol inks

I remember the first time I did this polished stone technique it was at a scrapbook store I worked at.  We had so much fun creating various backgrounds.  Fun times!  I still had fun with it on this one, what I like about it is you never get the same look twice.

Supplies: Stamps: Stampin Up  Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Martha Stewart stack of pigment inks for the pumpkin  Paper: white and purple cardstock  Accessories: birch tree stencil, purple twine

I have never made a card with a stencil.  First I tried spritzing my color on...unsuccessful.  So I used a sponge dauber and that worked better for this particular stencil.  I think it looks really spooky.

Supplies: Silhouette cut file and cardstock

Isn't this cute?!  I used a crimper to finish off the edge at the top.

Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts  Paper: Papercut whip cream and Chatterbox  Ink: Versamagic dew drops  Hero Arts die cut (came with the stamp set), American Crafts ribbon, corner rounder

I was so sure on this layout, but it is growing on me.  I like that it a way to incorporate patterned paper into a clean and simple card.  I have so much patterned paper to use, so I will use this layout again.

That's all for Day 3!

42 Cards in 7 Days...

I completed all 42 challenges on SCS, whew!  Here are my entries for Day 2 of challenges.

Supplies: Paper: black, orange, and white cardstock  Accessories: Papertrey ghost die cut, googlie eyes, ribbon, Sizzix square scallop die.

This is a pretty simple card.  I just love that little ghost, and who doesn't love googlie eyes!

Supplies: Paper: early espresso, crumb cake, white, scraps Ink: Memento tuxedo black and love letter, soft suede Stamps: Lawn Fawn  Accessories: Lawn Fawn die cuts, owl punch, bird punch, brayer, Paper Studio wood grain embossing folder

My owl punch finally made it's debut after way to long.  Sometimes I think I enjoy this hobby for the shopping more than the crafting!  I inked up the wood grain folder with soft suede ink and ran it through the big shot.
Supplies: Stamps: Create a Cupcake  Ink: Memento tuxedo black, versamark  Paper: black and white cardstock, Doodlebug flower paper  Accessories: modern label punch, ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folder, filigree brad, brayer, clean embossing powder

How cute is that purse?!  I found this card, and followed her directions on how to make this clutch.  She even has a larger one made out of the top note die, I will have to try that out too!  I used a different embossing folder and ribbon on mine.
Supplies: Stamps: Technique Tuesday Paper: white and red cardstock Ink: Memento love letter Accessories: Memory Box die cut

Another super simple card.  Love letter is a wonderful red ink if you haven't tried it, you should!

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: white and lavender cardstock  Accessories: Quickutz embossing folder, lavender satin ribbon, gem, flower tutorial, 2 inch glue dot

The flower is the beauty on this card.  I followed this tutorial to create it.  I didn't have the sticky sheet like she used, so I used a large glue dot.  This must not be nearly as thick as the sticky sheet or I over did it with the heat gun.  My glue dot melted and I had to keep pushing the ribbon back together to keep the flower formation.  I also thought I could have adhered my glue dot to the cardstock circle prior to applying the heat as well, I used the little sheet that the glue dot comes on.  And I chose this embossing folder because I thought it framed my flower well.

That's it for day 2, stop by again as I will be posting the remaining cards from these challenges.

Thanks for stopping by!

Quilt Pattern Inspiration

Supplies: Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: White, Doodlebug 6x6 paper pad Accessories: Honeycomb embossing folder, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch

Hello!  I decided to tear apart and organize my basement...  Whoa, I didn't realize what I was getting into.  Bags of garbage, a counter full of items for the Goodwill, and a week later I am just about done!  I was enjoying some time out of the basement on Pinterest and my Aunt had pinned a quilt pattern using hexagons to make a butterfly.  So the cardmaker in me said, I could do that on a card!  It took some figuring out because of the way the embossing folder is, but I got it eventually.  I drew on some antennas and added a sentiment to complete the card.  I might just have to send this to her!

Hello!

Supplies: Paper: Papercut: cream, Crumb Cake, Basic Grey 6x6 Hey Girl!  Accessories: Silhouette Image: Lori Whitlock Quote Bubble, dimensionals

I have been wanting to make a card, and yesterday I organized my space so I have a table top again.  This made it a lot easier to make a card!  I saw this card sketch, and went from there.  I hopped onto the Silhouette Design Studio and created the card front.  I only cut out three of the circles from the card front, and then popped that piece up for dimension.  I cut out some circles from coordinating papers, then I was trying to decide what to do for the sentiment.  I have been seeing conversation bubbles on a lot of cards lately so off to the online Silhouette store I went.  I found this cut file.  I popped this up on the card too.

I never would have come up with this on my own, thank goodness for card sketches!

Scalloped Hexagons, Oh My!

Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts  Paper: Papercut Whip Cream, blue cardstock from Hobby Lobby, Basic Grey patterned paper pack 6x6 Hey Girl  Accessories: Silhouette Cameo hexagon cut file, ribbon

Hello Stampers!  School is out for summer, and I have a ton of stuff to catch up on.  But I hope to get some stamping time in, in between projects.  Today I snuck in some time.  I was shopping yesterday and saw a neat die cut that cut out hexagons individually and connected.  It was really neat, I thought I could make that on my Silhouette!  So I purchased Scallop Hexagon Nested Shapes, from the Silhouette online store and got to work.  I scaled it down, connected, and welded, and presto I had the concept of the die I saw yesterday with the bonus scalloped hexagon for 99 cents!  I cut out my pieces and threw together a quick card.

Under the Weather

Supplies: Stamps: Amuse and Whipper Snapper  Paper: white and pink cardstock  Accessories: pink twine, oval punch, dimensionals, SU cloud embossing folder, Darice embossing easy frame, nestabilities, copic markers
I picked up the Darice embossing easy frames and tried them out.  They work great!  I wanted more of a frame around the focal image, so I embossed an oval nestabilities.  It flattened out the clouds...so I ran it through again and some of the clouds were on the oval frame I embossed...  So instead of continuing this endless battle, I got out my stylus and smoothed out the embossed oval frame the best I could.  Next time I think I will use the Darice easy frame and a stylus to emboss a frame.

I added a sidewalk to my focal image, and popped up the main panel for some dimension wih the sentiment.

I'm Alive....

Supplies:  Paper: Basic Grey Hey Girl!, Papertrey ivory  Ink: Early Espresso  Stamps: ?  Accessories: mini butterfly punch, gems, pear pizzazz ribbon, dimensionals.

Hello!  I feel as though I am very out of the loop with the stamping world.  What a whirlwind life has been, with summer coming hopefully life will begin to settle down.  School and everyday goings on have been really busy, and unfortunately my crafty hobby had to be put on the back burner for awhile.  I try to make time and then something comes up.  I have made a few cards here and there, and didn't get a chance to share them.  I just took pictures of them all so hopefully they will be posted within the next weeks.  I made this cutie today.  That little butterfly is just the cutest!  I love how it works so well with the elegant butterfly punch as well.  That Stampin Up always knows how to coordinate!  Love that!

I hope to get back to visiting stamping blogs and galleries.  I have gotten quite addicted to Pinterest!  I should probably spend less time on that and more time actually crafting! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
