Blushing Bunny

Supplies: Stamps: Penny Black Ink: SU white craft, Memento Luxe wedding dress, SU pink piourette  Paper: GKD kraft, pear pizazz  Accessories: Impressions Obsessions bunny die cut, Martha Stewart grass border punch, SU border punch, pink twine, mini black/brown pearl, pom pom, studio matte finish, paintbrush, water
I made this card for the CASology's challenge, blush.  I added pink to his cheeks and ears, and a blush bow to meet the requirements of this challenge.
I started this card my punching the scallop lace border on each side of my focal panel.  Then I ran it through the Big Shot to dry emboss my bunny die cut.  To add color I used the white wash technique, and then added pink on the ears and his cheek.  Then I applied the Studio matte finish to the pink twine, smoothed it out, and tied the tiniest bow I have ever tied and shaped the bow.  I let this dry and then applied a pom pom for the tail.  I inked up the border using the white craft ink to have it stand out from the card base.  I punched out the grass border and pulled the grass back to add some dimension after I adhered it to the focal panel.  Lastly, I added a pearl for the eye, stamped my sentiment, and adhered the focal panel.  There were two more bunnies in the die cut set, I might make the same style card with the other two bunnies.  Thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate!

Supplies: Stamps: Feeling Sentimental  Paper: black, kraft, white  Ink: Memento Luxe tuxedo black  Accessories: Martha Stewart butterfly punch, acetate, Doodlebug twine, My Favorite Things flourish die cut, candy dots

It is fun how sometimes our creations turn out completely different as they were planned.  I was browsing through the Featured Stamper's gallery and found this card.  I liked the simplicity and thought I would change the label to a butterfly, and to incorporate the colors I was going to punch out a butterfly in each of the colors, stack them up, and then you would see the colors on the wings.  So I got started and I decided I liked just the white layer with this particular butterfly punch, and I was going to add the colors with the candy dots.  I didn't have the right color, but found the ones I used.  Then I looked over at a card my Mom had made and I liked how she used this flourish die cut with a butterfly punch so I got mine out and thought it would be fun to cut it out of acetate.  I added it to the kraft and things started to roll.   I found some twine to match, and accented the butterfly with some black dots like the original card.  Looking back at the original card I was CASEing I thought I really strayed, but the inspiration all started with her lovely card!

Celebrate Carnival Style

Supplies: Stamps:  Feeling Sentimental  Paper: early espresso, burlap paper, Distress watercolor paper Ink: Black Staz On, Distress Ink: faded jeans, peacock feathers, wild honey, peeled paint  Accessories: stampin up button, K & Company twine, water spritzer, heat tool

The inspiration for this card came from the current CASology challenge, carnival theme,  and a tutorial I watched by Jennifer McGuire: Distress Ink Bleed.  It looked like fun, and I gave it a try on this card.  I would have liked more of the blue on the stamped image, but didn't want to redo it.  So I added a blue accent in the twine.  I cut the banner from burlap paper, what a cool product that is!  And I received a pin from a friend on this button treatment.  Loved the look and thought it would be great on this card.

Thanks for stopping by, and Happy Stamping!

Merry Christmas

Supplies: Paper: white, silver glitter, light blue  Accessories: merry and snowflake framelits and square lattice embossing folder

I have been seeing a lot of tutorials on using die cut inlays.  I decided to give it a try.  I really like the look, but I don't think it could be a card to mass produce for the holidays.  The framelits left a mark when I cut the images out so I decided to emboss the blue and white to cover up those marks.  Thanks for looking!

Featured Stamper

Supplies: Stamps: Flower Shop, Papertrey mixed messages Paper: GKD heavy base weight kraft, Basic Grey Lemonade 6x6 paper pad, white  Ink: white craft ink, versamark, Memento: love letter, rose bud, bahama blue, tangelo, cantelope  Accessories: Martha Stewart tag punch, ribbon, Lawn Fawn twine, paint brush, white detail embossing powder, dimensionals

When I looked through the featured stamper's gallery this card caught my eye.  As I read the description and saw that she used a white wash technique, I was inspired.  I haven't tried this technique before and I really like the soft look and contrast it has on the kraft paper.  I made the following changes to my card, a different flower, my sentiment is on a tag, I matted it with a patterned paper, and I added an assortment of colors to my flowers to match my patterned paper.  This was a fun card to make!  Thanks for stopping by!
