Featured Stamper Birthday Wishes

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K Dazzling Dahlia and Wild Blossom  Ink: Versamark  Paper: Gina K: green, yellow, and white, and Tim Holtz watercolor paper  Accessories detail white embossing powder, Clean Color brush markers, gingham ribbon, linen thread, SU border punch, Gina K Decorative tag set, dimensionals, swiss dot embossing folder

Sunday brings us the featured stamper challenge on SCS.  This week the featured stamper is Nan Cee.  She has such a pretty gallery be sure to take a look!  I chose this card to CASE.  I kept a lot of the elements the same as her card.  A couple of changes include: embossed sentiment, added a tag behind my flower, and I didn't stamp on my green layer so I could add my sentiment.

This card had me dabbling at using my Zig Clean Color brush markers.  I followed a tutorial that Gina included on Stamp TV.  As I used them I got more used to them, and started to get the blending the way I wanted it.  I have a lot more practice ahead of me with these brush markers.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you all have a safe and wonderful New Year!!!

It's Your Birthday

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K On My Mind In My Heart, Spring Mix Stamp TV kit stamp set  Paper: Melon Mambo, black onyx, Gina K heavy base weight white and artist quality white  Accessories:  copic markers, Gina K tag set, linen thread

Here is another card using the stamp set On My Mind In My Heart.  This time I used a portion of the stamped image to decorate my tag.  I just love this tag with the pierced edges!  I colored in the flowers with copic markers and added some linen thread.  I didn't quite know what kind of layout to use with a tag, so I went searching on Pinterest.  I came up with nothing!  So I decided to keep it simple and added an embossed background and colored cardstock to frame the focal image.

A Visit to Village Paper and Ink

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K You're On My Mind and In My Heart  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Daffodil Delight, Black Onyx, Artist Quality white cardstock  Accessories: Gina K: Tag Trio die set, dragonfly brad, dimensionals, linen twine

We ventured out into the negative temperatures that we are having in Wisconsin this week, and had a visit to the Village Paper and Ink store.  And the bonus was there was 15% off everything!  I enjoyed my visit, there is so much product to look at and so many wonderful samples to view as well.  So today I decided to make some cards with the items I purchased.  This card used the new free stamp set with a $75 purchase.  I love all of the flowers and how Springy it looks.  I stamped it on the artist quality white cardstock in memento tuxedo black ink, and colored it with copic markers.  I love the artist quality cardstock with copic markers, it makes blending so easy.  I highly recommend this paper!!  It says it is good with colored pencils also, but I haven't tried it with them yet. After I colored my focal image I die cut a tag and popped it up with dimensionals.  I also added a dragonfly brad, does anyone use brads anymore?!  I thought this one looked sweet with all of the flowers.  I added some linen thread to the top of the tag and that completed my card.

Sunday brings us the Featured Stamper challenge on SCS.  This week the Featured Stamper is Donna.  I chose to CASE this card.  I really liked the layout.  I have word die cuts and I'm not always sure how to implement them into a card design.  This layout helped with that!  I kept the layout the same and changed the theme of the card to Christmas.

Long time, no stamp!  I couldn't believe my last post was in July!  I guess it has been a busy school year!!  I had a chance to participate in the featured stamper challenge on SCS today.  When I saw this card, it made me think of my ChristMoose!  He was fun to color!!  I found some coordinating Christmas lights paper, some red ribbon, and red gems and I was done.  It was fun to make a card again.  Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things with my crafty hobby.

Christmas in July

Supplies: Paper: cherry cobbler, Gina K white  Accessories: sequins, Poppystamps eyelet stitches, Sizzix embossing folder, Tutti Frutti Merry Christmas

The CAS challenge on SCS is Christmas in July!  It is always great to have some Christmas cards made before the holiday season.  For this card I die cut the edge with the eyelet stitches die.  Then I partially embossed the corner of the main panel.  There were snowflakes on the opposite corner of this embossing folder as well.  I glued down the Merry Christmas die cut, and I added some random sequins to add some bling.  Lastly I adhered the panel to a cherry cobbler card base.

I was inspired again by an older SCS sketch layout for this card.  I used two coordinating patterns from the Delightful Daisy papers for this card, and matted them in white.  I added a white ribbon around the first layer of patterned paper.  Lastly, I stamped and punched out the daisies and added the faceted gem.

Delightful Daisy

Supplies: Stamps: Stampin Up  Paper: Delightful Daisy, old olive, daffodil delight, white  Ink: old olive  Accessories: leaves embossing folder, circle layering framelits

I was cruising through Pinterest and I came upon a Mojo Monday sketch, but I didn't pin it.  Even though I didn't pin it I did use it, and that is where the inspiration for this card came from.  It was fun using so many different patterned papers from the Delightful Daisy paper pack, when I am used to using a white card base.  I had made this card with the intension of putting the new daisy punch where the sentiment is, but it was much too large.  So I put the daisy in the inside of the card instead.

I love the Delightful Daisy designer series paper, and this is my favorite pattern in the bunch.  I used an old SCS sketch as a starting point for this card.  Whenever I used patterned paper I always need help getting started.  This time I stamped the pattern on the daisy in gray to match the white and yellow daisies on the paper.

Featured Stamper Hoooot Dog!

Supplies: Stamps: Stampendous  Ink: Archival Jet Black  Paper: Strathmore Bristol, Lawn Fawn patterned papers  Accessories: Tombow Markers, Wink of Stella clear marker, Lawn Fawn stitched circle die cut

This week's Featured Stamper on SCS is kraftyaunt, check out her gallery here!  What a fun gallery!  This is the card that gave me inspiration for my card.  I had a similar focal image that I colored with Tombow markers and used my Wink of Stella clear marker to blend.  It adds a nice shimmer to the entire focal image and blends the Tombow markers like butter!  I used a stitched circle to die cut my focal image and I made orange and green banner accents to maintain the same color scheme as the original card.

Black and White Snowflake

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K (snowflake) stamp set duo, Blessed Is the Season  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Gina K white and black  Accessories: red ribbon and gem, nestabilities

The Mix It Up Monday challenge this week on Stamp TV is to use black and white.  The only addition of color could be attached with gems or ribbon.  I stamped the scripted background twice, lining it up with my stamp a ma jig, and cut it out with the label nestabilities die cut.  Then I matted it in black.  Next I found the two circles that would fit inside the label, and I looked for a focal image.  The snowflake from Blessed Is the Season was too big, but the snowflake from the stamp set duo was just right.  I accented the black and white with red using a red gem and a red double looped bow.

Supplies: Stamps: My Sentiments Exactly  Paper: Gina K black, Tim Holtz watercolor paper, and vellum Ink: Gina K black onyx  Accessories: piercer, Gina K butterfly, watercolors, gems

The CAS challenge on SCS is to not use a white background.  This was tough for me, I love my white space.  I watercolored the background to add color to my card base.  Then I added the sentiment.  I drew a line to from the sentiment to where the butterfly was going to be to help guide me when I was doing the piercing.  After the piercing was done I added my butterfly with some multi medium matte, and added a couple of gems to the butterfly body.

Stamp TV Double Challenge

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K: enjoy the sunshine, spring mix, happy harvest.  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Gina K white  Accessories: taylored expressions pocket die cut and Gina K double stitched rectangle die cut, copic markers, gingham ribbon

I made this card for the Mix it Up Monday challenge on Stamp TV: Double Challenge.  The first part of the challenge was to use a pocket on the front of your card, and the second part of the challenge was to decorate the inside of your project.  I found a small flower image in the happy harvest stamp set.  It is actually a potted plant, but I put the pocket over the pot to make it look like the flowers were coming out of the pocket.
For the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment and die cut it from the double stitched rectangle die.  I also stamped the floral image again.

Supplies: Stamps: Tim Holtz coffee time  Ink: SU soft suede and Versafine onyx black  Paper: SU very vanilla, soft suede, kraft and white  Accessories: Time Holtz coffee embossing folder, SU wide twill ribbon

I made this card using the sketch challenge on SCS.  I used Tim Holtz's coffee time stamp, die, and embossing folder set.  I was going to stamp the sentiment, die cut it, and adhere it to the ribbon, but I thought that might look strange.  So I thought, stamp on the ribbon!  I wasn't sure how clear it would stamp, but I was pleasantly surprised at the results.

Sunday brings us the featured stamper, and the ending date for the Stamp TV's Flower Poppin' challenge.  The featured stamper is MiamiKel4 on Splitcoast Stampers, and I chose the following card as inspiration for my card.  I chose this card because I liked the layout and that it included patterned paper.  When making CAS cards it is challenging to me to use patterned paper, and I like to get inspiration to use it because I have a bunch!  I kept the same layout of her card and changed the flower and the banner to a ribbon.

Stamp TV flower challenge

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K flowers, Amuse sentiment  Paper: Gina K white  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories: Spellbinders die cuts to make the frame, swiss dots embossing folder, purple ribbon, copic markers

I used to participate in challenges on Stamp TV, and then I took a break from stamping.  Today I got an email from Stamp TV about a weekly challenge and thought I would give it a try.  The challenge is to use your favorite Gina K flower stamp on a card as we are welcoming spring.  I thought of this iris stamp, because I have so many perennials coming up including my dark purple irises.  I used my copic markers to color in the irises.  I made an embossed frame to define the flowers as my focal image.  I added some purple ribbon, (it isn't that dark in real life.)  Lastly I added a sentiment to complete the card.

Birthday Sketch

Supplies: Stamps: Summer Soltice, Sentiment from Gina K  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Gina K black and white cardstock  Accessories: swiss dots embossing folder, piercing guide, paper piercer, dimensionals

This card's layout is from the sketch challenge on SCS.  I decided to pierce the card base for one of the layers of the sketch.  I also wanted to keep the card black and white so I decided to go with embossing for the side panel.  I went back and forth about coloring in the butterfly or stamping it in a color, but when all was said and done I went with no color to maintain the black and white look of the card.  Thanks for stopping by!

I had to make another card with the butterfly colored in.  Which do you like better??  Now I am leaning toward the colored in butterfly.

Supplies: Stamps: Dragonfly Dreams  Ink: Versamark  Paper: White cardstock and copper foil sheets  Accessories: copper embossing powder, detailed dragonfly, linen thread

I made this card for two challenges: CAS and Featured Stamper on SCS.  The featured stamper this week is PapercraftBoutique, and I chose this card of her's to CASE.  The CAS challenge was to use "winged things."  I used the inlaid die cut technique on this card using the copper foil paper, and then a white dragonfly on top.  This is inspiration I received from the featured stamper.  Then I added some linen thread and embossed my sentiment with copper embossing powder.

Watercolor Thank You

Supplies: Stamps: Lawn Fawn Our Friendship Grows  Ink: Archival jet black  Paper: grey cardstock and white watercolor paper  Accessories: watercolor, Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die cut

I saw the Freshly Made Sketch and found inspiration in the layout.  I still had my sunflower stamp set out from my last card, and thought it would be great for the focal image of this sketch.  I stepped out of my comfort zone using watercolors instead of copic markers.  I started with a watercolor background, and then watercolored the sunflowers and cut them out.  I then die cut the panel with the stitched rectangle die cut, and adhered it to a grey cardstock base.  Thanks for stopping by!!

My Mom recently sent me a very cute card, and that is where I got the inspiration for this card.  I chose to make a card using her card because it had some string on it, and the CAS challenge this week on SCS is to use string.  I used the string to attach the tag to this card.

Spring Tulips

Supplies: Stamp:  Endless Creations  Paper: Gina K white  Ink: Gina K black  Accessories: Offray ribbon, Timeless Tags die cuts, Darice tulip embossing folder

It is Sunday again, and time for the featured stamper challenge on SCS.  This week's featured stamper is Linda aka bubblestx4.  I found inspiration to make my card from this card in Linda's gallery.  I used embossing and butterflies on my card just like Linda, and added a stamped sentiment and ribbon on mine.  I had a slight heart attack when I went to make this card.  I wanted to use the butterflies from the Timeless Tags die cuts and.......they......were.....missing.  Ahhh!  I had to take everything off of a shelf next to my desk to try to find them.  Then when I was just about done putting everything back onto the shelf I had a paper sleeve from one of the die cut sets.  When I picked it up out slid the butterflies.  Whew!  Sigh of relief!  I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on that little die cut.

Luck of the Irish

Supplies: Paper: DCWV glitzy paper pack, Gina K white  Accessories: Martha Stewart shamrock paper punch, Xyron

I do not have a lot of St. Patrick's Day stamping materials.  So I created a background using the punched out shamrocks, and highlighted one of them using the glitzy green paper.  I like how the white shamrocks give the card texture similar to an embossed effect.  I created a stack of shamrocks and glued them together with the glitzy green shamrock on top to give the focal shamrock some dimension.  Thanks for stopping by!
