Supplies:  Stamps: Inkadinkado?  Paper: Gina K white and black onyx, Tim Holtz watercolor paper  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Accessories:  Quickutz butterfly die cut, watercolors

Happy Monday Everyone!!  For me it is back to work... :(  Which of course means less crafty time. The CAS challenge on SCS is Winged Things.  I was looking through my cards and found the focal panel of this card, and I hadn't finished it.  Lucky me for this panel had a butterfly on it for the challenge!!!  I trimmed down the focal panel so I could mat it in black, and adhered my layers together.  That is as CAS as I can get! :)

Thanks so much for looking!!!

Back to School

Supplies:  Stamps: Studio G  Ink:  Gina K black Amalgam  Paper:  Riding Hood Red, DCWV patterned paper, early espresso  Accessories: ribbon, Cuttle Kids apple die cut

This week the CAS challenge on SCS is Back to School.  I found this apple paper and wanted to use this.  I have so much patterned paper and never use it!  So I challenged myself to try it out today.  I ended up using it in place of my usual white space.  I felt like if I added layers to it you wouldn't see the pattern of the paper.  I stamped the back to school image onto my apple die cut, added some ribbon, and popped up my apple with dimensionals to complete this card.

This week's featured stamper on SCS is Jenny.  I chose this card as inspiration for my card.  I change the color scheme and used the same layout.  For the bumble bees I did a white wash where the yellow strips are supposed to be, then I went over the white wash with a copic marker so the yellow would stand out on the kraft paper.  I added Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to the wings to add some sparkle.  For the tag I created a background layer with black to help the sentiment stand out from the card base.

Snowy Cardinals

Supplies:  Paper: Gina K heavy base weight white, DCWV paper pack, red scrap  Accessories:  Simon Says Stamp die cut, Impression Obsession die cut, dimensionals.

This week over at the Paper Players the challenge is to use negative space on your card, and to have a clean and simple design.  To keep the design clean and simple I used this birch tree die cut.  I thought using the snowy paper as my negative space made the birch trees stand out.  And then I found some cardinal die cuts and the contrast of the red against the background made the cardinals pop.  Lastly, I added dimensionals to the back of this focal piece and added it to my card base to complete this card.

Dazzling Dahlia

Supplies: Stamps: Gina K Dazzling Dahlias  Ink: Memento tuxedo black  Paper: Daffodil Delight, Black Onyx, white, and Tim Holtz watercolor paper  Accessories: Zig Clean Color brush markers, score buddy, swiss dots embossing folder
When I haven't stamped in awhile I will look through card samples that I have saved on Pinterest and copy them to get my mojo flowing again.  That is exactly what I did with this card.  This is a card made by Gina K, she has a video tutorial here that I followed to make this card.  This is my first card using the Zig Clean Color brush markers, they definitely have a learning curve.  I found that I had to blend the two colors together right away to get a smooth blend, and sometimes I needed to use some water on a paint brush to smooth things out also.  I got the hang of it after awhile.  Check out Gina's video, it is a great tutorial!
